Guide for freshers

Hello friends.
We all are very excited when we got admission in college and say bye bye to our school days.We feel relaxed by thinking that we are in the college now and there is no rules and regulations for us.
There are many points which may help you:
  • Respect your seniors: They are more experienced and you have to gather knowledge from them as much as possible.
  • Relationship status: Be in relationship in your first year otherwise you will become a dead body at the end of last semester(specially for mechanical engineers).
  • Bunks : Bunking your class seems to be pretty cool but don't overflow in the crowd decision.Be your own boss, make your own decisions.
  • Rattu: Keep your basics clear but don't turn in rattu tota(book worm).Enjoy your college days in first year.
  • Assignments : It seems that 100% students are not interested to make assignments but from my personal point of view it will helps you a lot in your semester exam(specially mathematics).

I hope these points help you.

Cooling capacity of refrigerators and air conditioners

Have you ever wondered ? Why capacity of domestic refrigerator and Air Conditioner (AC) is different though both are refrigeration system? What is the basic difference between them with respect to the cooling capacity? The capacity of domestic refrigerator is normally rated in 'Litre'. Litre actually a unit of volume and it is also applicable to the domestic refrigerator while dealing with space to be cooled. Thus, litre capacity actually indicates the volume or space to be cooled by domestic refrigerator. On the other hand, capacity of Air Conditioner (AC) is given by term 'Ton'. Now, this term,   What is one Ton refrigeration? 'Ton' is actually a name given to amount of heat to be extracted from 1 short ton (907.18474 kg) of water at 0 degree C to convert it to ice at the same temperature in 24 hours. (Note: 1 large ton = 1016.0469 kg, 1 metric ton = Tonne = 1000 kg) In other words, refrigeration rate required to freeze 1 ton of wa...

Torque convertor

Torque converter is a type of fluid coupling that uses a fluid to transmit turning effort from the one shaft to another. It is a device which performs a function similar to that of a gear box, namely, to increase the torque while reducing the speed. A gear box provides only a small number of fixed ratios, but the torque converter provides a continuous variation of ratio from the lowest to the highest. The torque convertor is somewhat similar to a fluid fly wheel, but differs from it in one aspect, namely it has three principal components instead of only two. Torque converter consists of (i)  The driving element or impeller or pump which is connected to the engine. (ii)  The driven element or rotor or turbine which is connected to the propeller shaft and (iii)  The fixed element or reaction member or stator which is fixed to the frame. The fixed element is responsible to cause a change of torque between input and output shafts. The fluid flywheel does not ...
